About Big Star Lake Cam

Big Star Lake Cam was started in 2002 as a simple family website to keep an eye on the snow conditions at our cottage during snowmobile season. With a single webcam, an old 386 computer and a dialup Internet connection the first webcam came to life. We really enjoyed being able to see the conditions at the cottage anytime from anywhere.

In December 2004 we decided to go public. We registered the domain name bigstarlakecam.com and the visitors started showing up. Shortly after going live we added a guestbook to the site and that's when a simple webcam site turned into a community.

Today, Big Star Lake Cam has five public and private cameras, a new Dell computer, a high speed DSL Internet connection and a whole lot of very faithful followers.
